Discover La Rioja, we'll help you at ALAIA ROOMS!
Welcome to Logroño! We hope you enjoy your stay in our apartments located in the heart of the city.
Logroño is the capital of the Autonomous Community of La Rioja, a land of vineyards and wine culture. https://lariojaturismo.com/
Among the best-known virtues of this city on the Ebro River are its wine culture and gastronomy, its presence on the Camino de Santiago (Way of St. James), its Old Town, and its status as a Commercial City of Spain.
Among its local festivals, the San Bernabé festival on June 11th, which commemorates the liberation from the French siege in 1521, and the San Mateo festival on September 26th, the Riojan grape harvest, are other important showcases of a city that has learned to combine the tradition and deep-rooted customs with the modernity and dynamism of modern times.
The city's size invites a stroll and a leisurely enjoyment of its significant sites: Paseo de El Espolón, the Co-Cathedral of Santa María de La Redonda, the Convent of La Merced, current seat of the regional Parliament; the characteristic Portales Street, the Museum of La Rioja, the Church of Santiago El Real, and the Church of Santa María de Palacio, are some examples of interest not to be missed.
Another important asset is the open and hospitable nature of the people of Logroño, which is evident in the city's numerous twinning agreements and associations with other cities around the world, such as Dax and Libourne in France, Dumferline in Scotland, Todos los Santos in Nueva Rioja in Argentina, and Rancagua in Chile.
It's important to know that this city's mild continental climate leads to hot weather in the summer and low temperatures in the winter, so it's best to be prepared for every visit.
Our recommendation for visitors is to enjoy the varied shopping options, the excellent restaurants on Calle Laurel, and, of course, stop by one of the many wineries that can be visited by appointment. Just a few meters from the Historic Center, you'll find Bodegas Franco Españolas, just across the Iron Bridge.
Logroño has historically been a place of passage and crossroads that, without a doubt, will not leave you indifferent.
Welcome!
